One of the most inexplicable things about believing in Jesus is all the things you receive that you can never earn on your own. Jesus name is exalted, and he gets to sit at the right hand of the Father because of what he did. But guess what? His followers get to do the same. We get gift after gift because of what has been accomplished through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. We will get to Bask in the Glory of God for eternity because of what Jesus did for us. I don’t think we take enough time to stop and think about that.
Why We Get to Bask in The Glory of God
Philippians 2: 25
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God the Father.
Jesus has been exalted because of the sacrifice he made on the cross for sinners. He fully submitted to the Father’s will. Because of what he did, his name is above all names, and he has been seated at the right hand of God. So no matter whether people want to or not, everyone will eventually bow and confess that Jesus is Lord!
In the Kingdom of God, the most significant part is getting to bask in the Glory of God. There is no darkness; there is no pain; there is no brokenness in his Kingdom. That is why we are called to be in this world but not of it. We should not be of this world because it’s not our home. Our home is the Kindom of God, and we are waiting to go home. In the meantime, we are trying to help as many people as possible come with us as possible.
When we get to heaven, everything will be perfect. We will get to see the Father and be considered Holy because of the finished work of Christ. Every single thing that Jesus accomplished here on earth, we get to perform through him. Jesus found peace, purposeful suffering; he knew the Father, beat death, and did so many more things, and we get to do it all. He gets to sit at the right hand of God and bask in his Glory, so we get to do the same thing.
Spend Time Thinking About The Future Glory and Basking in The Glory of God
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the Glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
Don’t get trapped in the issues and the pains of this world. If you are a follower of Christ, they will come, and they will keep coming your way. What matters is not the problems here on earth, but rather through all circumstances that you find a way to give all the Glory to God.
One of the best ways to do this and stay strong is to put your hope in Christ and the future Glory that will be revealed to us. When Christ returns and he heaven down, it will be amazing. Our eyes cannot even imagine what we will see and how beautiful this world will be with no brokenness.
Think about what it will be like to come face to face with the Father, the creator of the entire universe. What will it be like to be able to learn from Jesus and understand his ways? We can’t even imagine it! But it’s still worth thinking about because we are playing the long-term game here.
Think about investing in Crypto or a 401K. It’s not about what that money is worth today, next week, or even the following years. When you start investing, you are often trying to grow that money over the next 30-40 years of your life. Why do you do this? Because if you think about what you want now, you will spend that money, and you will miss out on how it can grow to help you in the future.
The same is true in our walk with Christ. If we get caught in the now, we live in this world and begin to set our minds on the flesh. But when we set our minds on that future Glory revealed to us, we stay steadfast!
Take Time Out of Your Day to Meditate On His Word and Bask in His Glory
People will try and spend time meditating and doing all of this other stuff to empty their minds. That is not of Christ. Instead, don’t empty your mind but fill it with the Word of God. Spend time thinking about Jesus Christ and what he has done for you. Take time to read and think about the power of his Word!
You should develop a rhythm of taking time every day just to be with Jesus Christ! What is better than that? To sit there and sit in his Glory and to think about why he has even been glorified. It just breaks you down when you think about it. You begin to see the love of God in a much deeper way.
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.
He is the radiance of the Glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the Word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his Glory, Glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the Glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of Glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
