The truth is that God all sin will separate you from God. He has a holy, righteous standard you must meet by keeping his law. Even one small rule and you are now in need of a savior.
Jesus died on the cross and took on the wrath of every liar and lie you have ever told. The good news is that Jesus died on the cross for you, and three days later, he rose again, giving new life to those who believe in him. The new life is significant, and it’s why we don’t continue to live on in sin.

We are to live a life like Christ, and we can’t do this if we lie about people’s names. The Christian is called to live a life that is above approach. This does not mean you are perfect, but it does mean when you are wrong, you are the first to admit that wrong, which also applies to lying. There is no reason or excuse for making up lies, but when you do, you can count on the grace of God that has already covered you if you call on the Lord’s name.
How The Holy Spirit Can Help You Tell The Truth
- Conviction: The Holy Spirit convicts individuals of sin and guides them in righteousness. When the Holy Spirit prompts a person, they may feel a sense of confidence when they are about to lie or engage in dishonesty. The Holy Spirit can remind and encourage them to speak the truth instead.
